In Gametize, content refers to the items that Players interact with inside a Topic. Content can be used to share information, collect responses, test knowledge, encourage participation, or make the experience more fun and engaging.
There are three main types of content available in Gametize:
Each content type serves a different purpose and can be used depending on the type of experience you want to create for your Players.
Flashcards
Flashcards are content cards that Players can view but not interact with.
They are commonly used to share information, instructions, learning materials, announcements, or media before Players move on to complete Challenges or Minigames.
Flashcards are useful when you want to:
- Introduce a Topic
- Share key information
- Provide instructions
- Display images, videos, or external media
- Explain what Players need to do next
Examples of Flashcards include:
- Welcome messages
- Learning notes
- Event instructions
- Product information
- Training materials
- Embedded videos or media
Since Flashcards are for viewing only, Players do not earn points from submitting responses to them.
Challenges
Challenges are interactive content that Players can complete.
They are used to collect responses, test knowledge, encourage actions, and reward Players with points. Depending on the Challenge type, Players may need to answer a question, upload media, scan a QR Code, complete a form, or perform another activity.
Challenges are useful when you want Players to:
- Submit an answer
- Complete a quiz
- Upload a photo or video
- Scan a QR Code
- Fill in a form
- Confirm that they have completed an action
- Participate in activities and earn points
Examples of Challenges include:
- Standard Challenge - Players post text or upload a photo.
- Photo Challenge - Players must upload a photo.
- Quiz Challenge - Players select one or more correct answers from a set of multiple-choice options.
- Multiple-Attempt Quiz Challenge - Players select one or more correct answers from a set of multiple-choice options.
- Poll Challenge - Player select one or more options from a set of options.
- Confirmation Challenge - Players click on a confirmation button to complete the Challenge. Best paired with another unlockable Challenge.
- Fixed-Answer/Passcode Challenge - Players must enter the correct answer, and may keep attempting until they get it right.
- Form Challenge - Players need to fill in several questions in a form.
- QR Code Challenge - Players scan a QR Code via the app.
- Video Challenge - Players must upload a short video.
Challenges are one of the main ways to drive Player participation, track completions, and reward engagement.
Interactive Widget
Interactive Widget also known as Minigames, are content that allows players to interact with learning or campaign content more engaging.
They are designed to make the experience more engaging by adding light gameplay elements. An interactive widget can be used to reinforce knowledge, encourage repeated participation, or provide a fun break between other content.
Interactive Widget are useful when you want to:
- Make learning more fun
- Reinforce key information
- Encourage Players to interact with the content
- Add variety to a Topic
- Increase engagement through simple game mechanics
Examples of Interactive Widget include:
- Hangman - Players identify a word based on a given clue and select alphabet letters. The player loses a life when they select a wrong letter.
- Reorder the Objects - Players rearrange a given set of items into the correct order.
- Spin the Wheel - Players spin an animated wheel to achieve a random outcome.
- Scratch Card - Players choose a random card to scratch.
- Memory Game - Players memorize the locations of several pairs of cards, then match them.
- Watch a Video - Players must finish watching a video before they earn any points.
Minigames are especially useful for campaigns, learning activities, events, and engagement programmes where you want to make the experience more interactive and enjoyable.
Choosing the Right Content Type
Use Flashcards when you want Players to read, watch, or view information.
Use Challenges when you want Players to take action, submit a response, or earn points through completion.
Use Minigames when you want to add fun, variety, and game-based interaction to the experience.
A well-designed Topic can include a mix of all three content types. For example, you may start with a Flashcard to introduce the activity, follow with a Challenge to test understanding, and end with a Minigame to reinforce the key message in a fun way.
Example Topic Flow
A simple learning Topic may look like this:
- Flashcard: Introduce the lesson or activity.
- Flashcard: Share instructions or learning content.
- Challenge: Ask Players to answer a question or submit a response.
- Minigame: Reinforce the message through a fun activity.
- Challenge: Collect reflection or feedback.
This helps create a more structured and engaging experience for Players.
