Assigning Challenges to Players in a Shuffle Mode Topic

The number of Challenges assigned per Player is determined by the value you set when creating a Shuffle Mode Topic.

How Challenges Are Assigned?

If the Shuffle Mode Topic is public, Challenges are assigned automatically and randomly as soon as a Player views the Topic. No additional action is required by the Project Administrators. 

If the Shuffle Mode Topic is private, Project Administrator must first invite Players into the Topic. Once invited, Challenges are assigned automatically and randomly when the Player views the Topic.

What Happens Before Challenges Are Assigned?

Before any Challenges have been assigned to Players, all of the following functions are available:

• Edit Challenges
• Publish Challenges
• Unpublish Challenges
• Move Challenges to another Topic
• Duplicate Challenges
• Reorder Challenges
• Delete Challenges
• Complete Challenges for players
• Post comments to Challenges
• View Challenge Analytics
• Get QR code for QR Code Challenges

What Happens After Challenges Are Assigned?

After Challenges have been assigned:

• There are restrictions to the Topic settings that you can edit. The number of Challenges assigned per Player can no longer be edited.
• You may continue creating new Challenges, but these will only be assigned to Players who access the Topic after the new Challenges are added.
• Editing Challenge points is not recommended, especially after some Players have completed Challenges, as changes only affect future completions. If you do edit points, ensure all Challenges have the same total earnable points. Learn more here. 
• There are restrictions on Challenge management:

  • Challenges cannot be unpublished

  • Challenges cannot be moved to another Topic

  • Challenges cannot be deleted

How to Re-assign Challenges to Players?

Players are assigned Challenges the moment they view a Shuffle Mode Topic. There are two ways to re-assign Challenges: 

• Reset Topic Activities via Topic Tools (Project Administrator only)
• Enable Topic Activity Reset for Players

Option 1: Resetting Topic Activities via Topic Tools (Project Administrators)

Resetting topic activities via Topic Tools in a Shuffle Mode Topic works the same way as in a Standard Topic, with the following considerations:

• The reset applies to all Players in the Topic
• All Challenge completions, points, votes, comments, and bookmarks will be removed

Option 2: Enabling Topic Activity Reset for Players

Enabling topic activity reset for Players in a Shuffle Mode Topic works the same way as in a Standard Topic. Just note the following: 

• Players are able to reset their own topic activities via web or mobile app
• The reset applies only to the Player who initiates it
• All Challenge completions, points, votes, comments, and bookmarks for that Player will be removed
