Assigning Challenges to Players in a Shuffle Mode Topic

The number of Challenges assigned per player is determined by the value you’d input when you create a Shuffle Mode Topic. This article will cover the following: 

• How to assign Challenges?
• What happens after Challenges are being assigned?

How to assign Challenges?

If the Shuffle Mode Topic is public - Challenges are assigned automatically and randomly the moment Players view the Topic. No additional action is required by the Project Administrators. 

If the Shuffle Mode Topic is private - You would first need to invite Players into the Topic. Only after Players are invited, can they view the Topic where challenges are assigned automatically and randomly.

What happens after Challenges are being assigned?

After Challenges have been assigned:

• There are restrictions to the Topic settings that you can edit - cannot edit the number of Challenges assigned per player
• You may create new Challenges. But, the new Challenges will only be assigned to Players who viewed the Shuffle Mode Topic after the change. 
• It is recommended to not edit Challenge points settings, especially not after some Players have already completed any of the Challenges as the change will only affect Players completing the Challenges after. If you do edit the points settings, do make sure that all Challenges are updated with the same total earnable points. Learn more here. 
• There are restrictions on how you can manage the Challenges - cannot unpublish the Challenge, move the Challenge to another Topic, or delete the Challenge. 

How to re-assign Challenges to players?

As mentioned above, Players are assigned Challenges the moment they view a Shuffle Mode Topic. There are 2 ways to re-assign Challenges: 

• Reset Topic Activities via Topic Tools (Project Administrator only)
• Enable Topic Activity Reset for Players

Resetting Topic Activities via Topic Tools (Project Administrators)

Resetting topic activities via Topic Tools in a Shuffle Mode Topic works the same as a Standard Topic. Just note the following: 

• This applies to all Players in the Topic.
• Any Challenge completions, points, votes, comments, and bookmarks will be removed as well. 

Enabling Topic Activity Reset for Players

Enabling topic activity reset for Players in a Shuffle Mode Topic works the same as a Standard Topic. Just note the following: 

• Players are able to reset their topic activities via web or app
• This applies only to Players who chose to reset their topic activities
• Any Challenge completions, points, votes, comments, and bookmarks will be removed as well.
