Assigning Challenges to Players in a Shuffle Mode Topic

NOTE: This feature is available to Project Owners and Project Administrators on the Admin Dashboard.

The number of Challenges assigned to each Player is determined by the setting configured for the Shuffle Mode Topic. Challenges are assigned automatically and randomly when a Player first accesses the Topic.

How Are Challenges Assigned?

If the Shuffle Mode Topic is public, Challenges are assigned automatically when a Player first views the Topic. No additional action is required by the Project Administrator.

If the Shuffle Mode Topic is private, the Player must first be invited to the Topic. Challenges are then assigned automatically when the Player first views it.

Note: Challenge assignments are random. Different Players may receive the same combination or order of Challenges.

Before any Player has been assigned a Challenge, Administrators can:

What Happens After Challenges Are Assigned?

Note: The following applies once at least one Player has been assigned a Challenge in the Shuffle Mode Topic.

The number of Challenges assigned per Player can no longer be changed.
Challenges cannot be unpublished.
Challenges cannot be moved to another Topic.
Challenges cannot be deleted.
New Challenges can still be created, but they will only be included in the assignment pool for Players who have not yet received their Challenge assignment.

You may still edit Challenge settings. However, changing points after Players have started completing Challenges is not recommended, because the changes only affect future completions. How to Re-assign Challenges to Players?

Note: Re-assigning Challenges does not change the number of Challenges assigned per Player.

Option 1: Reset Topic Activities via Topic Tools

Resetting Topic Activities via Topic Tools applies to all Players in the Topic.

All Challenge completions will be removed.
All points earned will be removed.
All votes, comments, and bookmarks will be removed.

After the reset, Players will receive a new random Challenge assignment when they access the Topic again.

Option 2: Enable Topic Activity Reset for Players

Enabling Topic Activity Reset for Players allows an individual Player to reset only their own Topic activity.

The Player can reset their activity via web or the mobile app.
The reset applies only to the Player who initiates it.
Their Challenge completions, points, votes, comments, and bookmarks will be removed.

After the reset, the Player will receive a new random Challenge assignment when they access the Topic again.

Important: Resetting Topic activity permanently removes Player activity and should be used carefully. Download any required reports before resetting activity.
