Creating Achievements in a Project with a Shuffle Mode Topic

If your Project contains a Shuffle Mode Topic, it is important to keep in mind the following as you select a rule when creating an Achievement. 

• Rules associated with completions in Project
• Rules associated with completions in Topic
• Rules associated with completions in Challenge
• Rules associated with points
• Rules associated with comments
• Rules associated with votes

Rules associated with completions in Project

(1) Made at least ‘x’ completions in this project

This rule works well if Project contains a Shuffle Mode Topic. But highly recommended keeping in mind the number of Challenges assigned per player in the Shuffle Mode Topic. 

For example, 

• Topic 1 is a Standard Topic with 4 Challenges, all to be completed once only
• Topic 2 is a Shuffle Mode Topic with 4 Challenges, but 2 assigned per player
• The recommended maximum value for this rule is 6. 

(2) Made at least ‘x’ photo completions in this project

This rule works well if Project contains a Shuffle Mode Topic. But highly recommended to exclude photo completions from the Shuffle Mode Topic as players may not be assigned the Photo Challenge (unless the topic contains only photo challenges).

For example, 

• Topic 1 is a Standard Topic with 4 Photo Challenges, all to be completed once only
• Topic 2 is a Shuffle Mode Topic with 4 Challenges with a mixture of types including 1 Photo Challenge. 2 Challenges were assigned per player.
• The recommended maximum value for this rule is 4. 

(3) Made at least ‘x’ QR completions in this project

This rule works well if Project contains a Shuffle Mode Topic. But highly recommended to exclude QR completions from the Shuffle Mode Topic as players may not be assigned the QR Code Challenge (unless the topic contains only QR Code challenges). 

For example, 

• Topic 1 is a Standard Topic with 4 QR Code Challenges, all to be completed once only
• Topic 2 is a Shuffle Mode Topic with 4 Challenges with a mixture of types including 1 QR Code Challenge. 2 Challenges were assigned per player.
• The recommended maximum value for this rule is 4.

Rules associated with completions in Topic

The Topic described in this section of rules refers to the Shuffle Mode Topic. 

(1) Be one of the first ‘x’ players to complete a challenge in this topic

This rule works well with a Shuffle Mode Topic. 

(2) Complete all challenges in this topic

This rule does not work with a Shuffle Mode Topic unless the number of Challenges assigned is the same as the number of Challenges created in the Topic. “All challenges” in the rule refers to both Challenges assigned and not assigned to Players. 

(3) Made at least ‘x’ completions in this topic

This rule works well with a Shuffle Mode Topic. But highly recommended keeping ‘x’ within the number of Challenges assigned per player in the Shuffle Mode Topic. 

For example, 

• Shuffle Mode Topic contains 10 Challenges, with 5 assigned per player. 
• The recommended maximum value for this rule is 5. 

(4) Made at least ‘x’ photo completions in this topic

This rule does not work with a Shuffle Mode Topic, unless the Topic contains Photo Challenges only. As there may be a chance that Players are not assigned the Photo Challenge(s). 

(5) Made at least ‘x’ QR completions in this topic

This rule does not work with a Shuffle Mode Topic, unless the Topic contains QR Code Challenges only. As there may be a chance that Players are not assigned the QR Code Challenge(s). 

Rules associated with completions in Challenge

(1) Complete this challenge at least ‘x’ times

This rule does not work with a Shuffle Mode Topic, as players can only complete Challenges in a Shuffle Mode Topic once. Also, Players may not be assigned this particular Challenge. 

Rules associated with points

(1) Earn at least ‘x’ points in this project

This rule works well if Project contains a Shuffle Mode Topic. But highly recommended keeping in mind the maximum number of points per Challenge completion for Challenges in the Shuffle Mode Topic - so as to give all players a fair chance to attain ‘x’.

For example, 

• Topic 1 is a Standard Topic with 4 Challenges, all to be completed once only, and each with 10 earnable points. 
• Topic 2 is a Shuffle Mode Topic with 4 Challenges, each with 10 earnable points, and 2 Challenges assigned per player.
• The recommended maximum value for this rule is 60.

(2) Earn at least ‘x’ points in this topic

This rule works well with a Shuffle Mode Topic. But highly recommended keeping ‘x’ within the maximum number of points per Challenge completion for Challenges in the Shuffle Mode Topic, while considering the number of Challenges assigned per player - so as to give all players a fair chance to attain ‘x’.

For example, 

• Shuffle Mode Topic contains 10 Challenges, each with 10 earnable points, with 5 Challenges assigned per player. 
• The recommended maximum value for this rule is 50. 

(3) Earn at least ‘x’ points in this challenge

This rule does not work with a Shuffle Mode Topic, as players may not be assigned this particular Challenge. 

Rules associated with comments

(1) Post at least ‘x’ comments in this project

This rule works well if Project contains a Shuffle Mode Topic. 

(2) Post at least ‘x’ comments in this topic

This rule works well with a Shuffle Mode Topic. 

(3) Post at least ‘x’ comments in this challenge

This rule does not work with a Shuffle Mode Topic, as players may not be assigned this particular Challenge. 

Rules associated with votes

(1) Vote on at least ‘x’ completions in this topic

This rule works well with a Shuffle Mode Topic. But highly recommended keeping in mind the number of Challenges assigned per player and the number of Players who can/will join the topic. 

(2) Vote on at least ‘x’ flashcards in this topic

This rule does not work with a Shuffle Mode Topic, as flashcards are not available in a Shuffle Mode Topic.
