Creating a Form Challenge

Form Challenge is a multi-field Challenge, where Admins can put together different field types. To create:

  1. Select a Topic that you wish to create the Form Challenge in. 
  2. On the Topic Manager page, locate and click on New_content_button.png.
  3. Click on Challenge in the pop-up panel.
  4. You will be directed to select from a range of Challenge Types. Select Custom_Form_Challenge_Icon.jpgFORM CHALLENGE.
  5. Go on to insert the Challenge information - icon, title, and description (learn more here).
  6. Under "Fields", create at least 1 Field by:
    1. Selecting a Field Type from the dropdown - text, whole number, number (with decimal places), date, time duration, or multiple choice. (learn more about each below)
    2. Insert a Field Title (e.g. a question you would like to ask)
    3. Insert the points to award when the Field is completed
    4. Selecting or deselecting Screen_Shot_2018-12-25_at_1.08.28_PM.png(specific to each field)
  7. You will also see several other options:
    1. Points Settings 
    2. Assigning speed points for Challenge
    3. Assigning team bonus points for Challenge
    4. Determining how often Players can complete the Challenge
    5. Activating Time Delay before completions are allowed
    6. Set maximum completions allowable before Challenge expires
    7. Scheduling the Challenge to publish and expire
    8. Entering post completion message
    9. Allow private completions and Admin-only completions
    10. Customize photo upload setting (learn more below)
    11. Locking the Challenge
    12. Embedding Content
    13. Embedding a Map
  8. After you are done setting up the Challenge, click Save Details .png.

Key highlights about Form Challenge

(1) There are 6 field types to choose from:

  • Text: text-based answer; minimum 2 characters; no upper limit.
  • Whole Number: e.g. 1, 100, 1033. Negative number is not allowed.
  • Number (with decimal places): with no limit to the number of decimal places, e.g. 1.1, 2.22, 3.33.
  • Date: select a date, within a date range (if any). As the Administrator, you have the option to limit the date range you would like the Players to select from.
  • Time Duration: select time in 1-hour and 5-minutes interval
  • Multiple Choice: select one from the list of options. As the Administrator, you can create unlimited options and assign different points to each.
  • [BETA] Rating Scale: select the levels on the rating scale. As the Administrator, you have the option to define the levels for the scale.

(2) There are 3 photo upload settings under "Completion Settings".

  • Photo upload is optional: the option to upload a photo is present but not required for Challenge completion. 
  • Photo upload mandatory: the option to upload a photo is present and is required for Challenge completion. 
  • Disable photo upload: the option to upload a photo is absent

NOTE:

  • Avoid changing the options within the Field or Option Title after completions have been made, as this may cause inaccuracies to the data.
  • For Multiple Choice Field Types, the options will be shown in a dropdown list if they contain below 20 characters.
