When creating a new Topic and selecting a Topic type, you will see 3 options - Standard Topic, Shuffle Mode Topic, and Personality Quiz Topic. This article will explore the differences between these 3 Topic types.
- Navigation after creating the Topic
- Publishing the Topic
- Content that you can create
- Flashcard/Challenge settings
- Creating Achievements associated with the Topic
- Player Experience
Navigation after creating the Topic
The Standard and Shuffle Mode Topics are similar in that after creating the Topic (and configuring the Topic setting), you will be directed to create Challenges.
After creating a Personality Quiz Topic, you will be first directed to create at least one personality type before you are able to create personality quiz challenges.
Publishing the Topic
The Standard and Personality Quiz Topics are similar - you may publish the Topic as long as you’ve created and published one Flashcard or Challenge.
To publish a Shuffle Mode Topic, you would need to minimally create the number of Challenge you’ve set to be assigned to players.
Content that you can create
In a Standard Topic, you can create Flashcards and all of the 12 types of Challenges (Standard, Photo, Video, Single-Attempt Quiz, Multiple-Attempt Quiz, Prediction, Single-Selection Poll, Multiple-Selection Poll, Confirmation, Fixed Answer/Passcode, Custom Form, QR Code). Each Challenge type has got its own unique settings and configurations.
In a Shuffle Mode Topic, you can create all types of Challenges except for Multiple-Attempt Quiz and Prediction, and Flashcards are unavailable.
In a Personality Quiz Topic, you can create Flashcards. However, there is only one available Challenge type - Personality Quiz Challenge. The setup of a Personality Quiz Challenge is similar to that of a Quiz Challenge, with the added function to assign personality type to the selected option.
Flashcard/Challenge Settings
Keeping in mind the types of content that you can create in each of the Topic types, Flashcard/Challenge settings available differ as well.
Creating Achievements associated with the Topics
Not all Achievement rules work the same for Standard, Shuffle Mode, and Personality Quiz Topic.
Player Experience
In a Standard Topic, all Flashcards and Challenges are shown to Players (unless they’ve been locked). Players may pick and choose to complete Challenges you have created. Depending on your design, they may unlock other content, earn Achievements, or more. Players need not complete all Challenges in a Topic.
The Player experience in a Shuffle Mode Topic is similar to that of a Standard Topic. However, Players will only see the Challenges that have been assigned to them.
In a Personality Quiz Topic, all Flashcards and Personality Quiz Challenges are shown to Players. Players may pick and choose the ones they would like to complete. However, Players will have to complete all Challenges in the Topic in order to learn about their Personality Type.
NOTE: Shuffle Mode Topic is the only Topic type where Players are assigned Challenges. Once Challenges are assigned, there are limitations to the Topic and Challenge settings that you are able to edit, as well as ways that you can manage Challenges. |
