You can configure several points settings for content completions, for all content types except Flashcards. This article focuses specifically on points awarded for Content Completions.
To assign points for Content Completions:
- While creating or editing Content, scroll to the Points Settings section.
-
Enter the points to award per completion.
- This is the number of points a Player earns each time they complete the content.
- If left empty, the default value will be used (typically 10 points).
- (Optional) You can cap overall points* a Player can earn from completing this content^.
- This limits the total number of points a Player can receive from one or multiple completions.
- If left empty, the default setting is unlimited.
-
This maximum includes:
Points awarded per completion
|
NOTE: * Updating points settings will only affect future completions. Example: If a Content initially awards 10 points per completion and is later updated to 15 points, only completions made after the update will receive 15 points. * If a Player has already exceeded the updated points, whatever that is extra will not be removed. ^ The overall maximum points setting does not include points earned from other Players' votes. |
Tip: Setting “Cap Overall Points At”
This setting works best when Content Frequency is set to any option other than “Only once”. It allows Players to earn points from repeat completions while preventing them from exploiting the Content for unlimited points.
Example:
If a Content awards 10 points per completion and the overall points cap is set to 20, a Player can complete the Content multiple times but will stop earning points after reaching 20 points. In this case, the Player can earn points from two completions only.
Unlike standard points awarded for content completion, which apply to all Players who complete the content, Speed Points allow you to reward only a selected group of Players based on how quickly they complete the content. |
