How to retrieve video URLs from Youtube, Vimeo, and Youku?

This article will cover the steps on how to retrieve video URLs to be embedded in a Flashcard or Challenge from the following video hosting sites: 

Retrieve video URLs from Youtube

  1. You may retrieve the video URL by copying it straight from the address bar. 
  2. Go on to embed the video link in any Flashcard or Challenge. 

Retrieve video URLs from Vimeo

  1. You may retrieve the video URL by copying it straight from the address bar.

  2. Or retrieve it via the share option and copying the link.

  3. Go on to embed the video link in any Flashcard or Challenge. 

Retrieve video URLs from Youku

  1. You would need to find the embed option to retrieve the video URL. Start by clicking on youku_-_share.png.
  2. Copy and paste the embed code to any text editor.

  3. Copy the link in the quotation marks.

  4. Go on to embed the video link in any Flashcard or Challenge.

    Please note when embedding Youtube videos, you should not use the share link. 

    • URL in the address bar - This works in our apps. This is the recommended option in because it is straightforward.
    • URL used in the embed code - This works in our apps
    • URL provided in the share button - This is not supported at the moment
