What Happens to Team Bonus Points When a Team Has Newly Added Members?

Team Bonus Points may be affected when new Players join a Team. Below, we explain how Team Bonus Points behave under different scenarios.

When Can a Team Have Newly Added Members?

• Project Administrators add Players to a Team
• Players join a Team via web or mobile app

• When There Is a Change in Criteria: Team Bonus Points Awarded

When There Is No Change in Team Bonus Points Criteria

Criteria refer to:

• The number of Players per Team required to complete the content, and/or
• The number of Team Bonus Points awarded

Example:

• Initial setup:

  • 1 Player per team must complete the Content to receive 10 team bonus points 
  • Team A has 5 Players
• One Player from Team A completes the Challenge, resulting in all 5 Players in the Team receiving 10 team bonus points each.
• A 6th Player then joins Team A. 

What happens?

• The new Player (6th Player) does not receive Team Bonus Points automatically.
• In order to receive the 10 team bonus points, the 6th Player would need to complete the same Content.

When There Is a Change in Criteria: Number of Players per Team

When the number of Players per Team required is updated, only Players who have not yet received Team Bonus Points are affected.

Example:

• Initial setup:
  • 1 Player per team must complete the Content to receive 10 team bonus points 
  • Team A has 5 Players
• One Player from Team A completes the Challenge, resulting in all 5 Players in the Team receiving 10 team bonus points each. 
• Project Administrators then changed the criteria to 7 Players per team must complete the Content to receive 10 team bonus points.
• The 6th and 7th Players then join Team A. 

What happens?

• The original 5 Players keep their Team Bonus Points.
• The 6th and 7th Players must both complete the content. Once they do, each of them receives 10 Team Bonus Points.

When There Is a Change in Criteria: Team Bonus Points Awarded

When the number of Team Bonus Points is updated, only Players who have not yet received Team Bonus Points are affected.

Example

• Initial setup:
  • 1 Player per team must complete the Content to receive 10 team bonus points 
  • Team A has 5 Players
• One Player from Team A completes the Challenge, resulting in all 5 Players in the Team receiving 10 team bonus points each. 
• Project Administrators then update the points to 15 team bonus points.
• A 6th Player then joins Team A.

What happens?

• The new Player (6th player) does not receive Team Bonus Points automatically.
• To earn the 15 Team Bonus Points, the new Player (6th player) must complete the content.
• The original 5 team members will not receive additional team bonus points despite the change.
