Locking a Topic

By default, all Topics are accessible by Players and immediately playable. When a Topic is locked, Players have to perform certain actions to gain access to unlock this Topic. As an Administrator, you are able to specify the actions your Players need to complete in order to unlock the Topic. 

When locking a Topic, a public and private Topic has to be managed differently.

When locking a public Topic

A Topic is public when Topic privacy has been set to public, allowing everyone in the Project to view and access it. To lock a public Topic: 

1. From the Project Manager, select a Topic you would like to lock. Here, you are looking for a public Topic. 
2. Go on to edit the Topic.  
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and select the option  to lock this Topic. 
4. Then, select from the dropdown another Topic the Player has to complete in order to unlock this Topic. (Note: To complete a Topic, Players have to complete all Challenges within the Topic.)  
5. Click  to complete. 

When locking a private Topic

A Topic is private when Topic privacy has been set to private, allowing only selected Players in the Project to view and access. Locking a private Topic involves 2 parts: 

Part 1: Setting the unlocking rule

1. From the Project Manager, select a Topic you would like to lock. Here, you are looking for a private Topic. 
2. Go on to edit the Topic. 
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and select the option   to lock this Topic.
4. Then, select from the dropdown another Topic the Player has to complete in order to unlock this Topic. (Note: To complete a Topic, Players have to complete all Challenges within the Topic.)
5. Click  to complete. 

Part 2: Inviting Players into the private Topic

As this is a private Topic, only invited Players will be able to unlock this Topic.

1. You may invite Players to the Topic using the shortcut in the yellow box - by clicking the link “Topic Player Manager”.
