Gametize assigns different roles to users based on the platform and the projects they manage. This guide distinguishes the standard Gametize.com platform from Enterprise Platforms (including Supertize.com).
1. Which roles are available?
| Role | Gametize.com | Enterprise Platforms (including Supertize.com) |
|---|---|---|
| Super Admin | ❌ | ✅ |
| Project Owner | ✅ | ✅ |
| Project Administrator | ✅ | ✅ |
| Project Moderator | ✅ | ✅ |
| Project User Manager (Beta) | ❌ | ✅ Beta |
| Player | ✅ | ✅ |
Enterprise role availability and beta features may vary by deployment. Super Admin is an Enterprise Platform-only role.
2. Project Owner
A Project Owner owns a particular project. On Gametize.com, this is generally the account that creates the project. On Enterprise Platforms, project ownership may also be managed through enterprise administration.
Project Owners have Project Administrator capabilities, plus ownership-level functions for their own projects:
- ✅ Grant Project Administrator rights
- ✅ Reset project content
- ✅ Reset project activity
- ✅ Permanently delete projects they own
Project ownership does not automatically grant Super Admin access to an Enterprise Platform.
3. Project Administrator
Project Administrators manage the day-to-day content and operations of projects to which they are assigned.
They can:
- ✅ Create topics, challenges, flashcards and marketplace widgets
- ✅ Create rewards and achievements
- ✅ Publish and manage project content
- ✅ Invite players to projects and topics
- ✅ Award bonus points and manage project activities
- ✅ Access project analytics and reporting where enabled
❌ What Project Administrators cannot do:
- ❌ Delete a project, even one they administer
- ❌ Reset project content
- ❌ Reset project activity
- ❌ Transfer project ownership
- ❌ Create new Enterprise Platform projects using Super Admin-only functions
- ❌ Manage platform-wide registration, SSO or security settings
- ❌ Reset platform users' passwords, suspend or delete platform users using Super Admin-only functions
Administrator assignment: On Gametize.com, granting Project Administrator rights is reserved for the Project Owner as documented in this guide. Enterprise Platforms may also allow authorised administrators to assign project-level roles; see the enterprise permissions matrix for the applicable configuration.
Important: A Project Administrator is not automatically a Project Owner or Super Admin. Managing project content does not grant ownership or platform-wide administrative authority.
4. Project Moderator
Project Moderators have limited access to project administration. Their focus is participant management and moderation.
- ✅ Invite or remove users from projects and topics
- ✅ Moderate players' completions and comments
- ✅ Manage reward redemption, collection and cancellation
- ❌ Cannot delete projects or reset project content or activity
- ❌ Cannot perform general content-authoring tasks reserved for Project Administrators
Analytics access may vary by platform configuration; check the assigned role's available dashboard functions.
5. Super Admin (Enterprise Platforms only)
Super Admins manage Enterprise Platform-level administration, including functions beyond individual projects.
- ✅ Create and administer Enterprise Platform projects
- ✅ Transfer project ownership and delete projects
- ✅ Manage platform-wide user administration and registration controls
- ✅ Coordinate enterprise-wide access, authentication and configuration with Gametize
Super Admins are available on Enterprise Platforms, including Supertize.com, but not on the standard Gametize.com platform.
6. Project User Manager (Beta — Enterprise Platforms)
The Project User Manager (Beta) is intended to delegate project-level user management without providing the full content-authoring and administrative privileges of a Project Administrator.
Because this role is in beta, its precise available functions and restrictions should be checked in the relevant Enterprise Platform before assignment. It should not be assumed to include project deletion, ownership transfer, or platform-wide Super Admin permissions.
7. Player
Players use the player-facing web or mobile experience to participate in projects. Depending on the project settings, they can:
- Complete challenges and minigames
- Redeem rewards and collect achievements
- View leaderboards and activity feeds
- Comment, vote and bookmark content
❌ Players do not receive project administrative access simply by participating.
8. Quick comparison: Project Administrator restrictions
| Action | Project Owner | Project Administrator |
|---|---|---|
| Delete own project | ✅ | ❌ |
| Reset project content | ✅ | ❌ |
| Reset project activity | ✅ | ❌ |
| Manage content and players | ✅ | ✅ |
| Platform-wide Super Admin settings | ❌ Unless separately assigned | ❌ |
