The User Manager role allows a user to manage Players within a Project without giving them access to content, settings, reports, or other administrative functions.
User Managers can:
- Invite and remove Players from a Project
- Add or remove Players from Topics
- Assign Players to Teams, if Teams are enabled
- View Topics and their Content
User Managers cannot create or edit Content, change Project settings, access reports and analytics, or manage other Administrators.
Adding a User Manager
Only a Project Owner or Project Administrator can assign the User Manager role.
- Sign in to the Admin Console.
- Open the relevant Project.
- Open Project Tools and select Administrator Manager.
- Click Add Administrators.
- Under Access Type, select User Manager.
- Enter the user's email address and other required information.
- Click Grant Administrative Access.
The user can sign in to the Admin Console once their account is active.
Managing Players in a Project
As a User Manager:
- Sign in to the Admin Console.
- Open the Project you have been given access to.
- Select Player Manager.
From the Player Manager, you can:
- Invite Players to the Project
- Remove Players from the Project
- Access available Player account management options, if enabled for your platform
Some functions, such as Player analytics, may only be available to Project Administrators.
Managing Players in a Topic
To manage the Players assigned to a specific Topic:
- Open the Project.
- Locate the relevant Topic.
- Select Player Manager for the Topic.
- Use Add Players to add existing Project Players to the Topic.
- Select Remove from Topic to remove a Player from that Topic.
Removing a Player from a Topic does not remove them from the entire Project.
Managing Team membership
If Teams are enabled for the Project:
- Open Project Tools.
- Select Team Manager.
- Select Assign Players to Teams to add Players to a Team.
You can also open an individual Team to remove Players from it.
If you do not see Team management options, Teams may not be enabled for the Project.
Viewing Topics and Content
User Managers can view the Topics and Content within a Project to understand what Players have access to.
However, the Content is read-only. User Managers cannot create, edit, publish, or delete Topics, Challenges, Flashcards, or Widgets.
Contact a Project Administrator if changes to the Project or its Content are required.
Removing a User Manager
A Project Owner or Project Administrator can remove User Manager access at any time:
- Open Administrator Manager for the Project.
- Locate the User Manager.
- Select Revoke User Manager Access.
This removes their User Manager access to the Project but does not delete their account.
