Note: This feature is available on the Admin Dashboard to Project Owners and Project Administrators.
The Assessment Settings feature allows Project Administrators to use a Topic as an assessment by setting a Pass Percentage.
A Player's pass status is determined by the percentage of the maximum points scorable in this Topic.
The pass status will only be visible in this Topic's analytics and reports, and will not be displayed to players.
How the Pass Percentage works
The Pass Percentage defines the minimum percentage of the Topic's maximum points that a Player needs to earn to be considered as having passed the assessment.
For example:
- Maximum points available in the Topic: 100 points
- Pass Percentage: 70%
- A Player who earns 70 points or more will be considered to have passed.
The calculation is based on the maximum points scoreable in the Topic, rather than the number of Challenges completed.
Setting a Pass Percentage
- From the Admin Dashboard, select the Project containing the Topic.
- Select the Topic you want to configure.
- Go to the Topic Settings page.
- Scroll down to Assessment Settings (Optional).
- Enter your desired percentage in the Pass Percentage field.
- Save your Topic settings.
Leave the Pass Percentage field blank if you do not want to use the Topic as an assessment.
Important: Configure Challenges for single completion
When using a Topic as an assessment, ensure that all Challenges within the Topic can only be completed once by each Player.
This prevents Players from repeatedly completing Challenges to accumulate additional points and helps ensure that the assessment results are calculated fairly.
Viewing assessment results
The assessment result is intended for Administrator reporting and is not shown to Players on the Player-facing interface.
Administrators can use the Topic's Analytics and Reports to review assessment-related Player data.
Recommended setup
For Topics being used as assessments:
- Set an appropriate Pass Percentage based on your assessment requirements.
- Ensure all assessment Challenges can only be completed once.
- Check that the points awarded across Challenges accurately represent their intended weighting.
- Review the maximum points available in the Topic before deciding on the Pass Percentage.
- Use Topic Analytics and reports to review Player performance after the assessment.
