Which Achievement rules best fit my use case?
As we introduce Project-wide Achievements, you can now paint a bigger picture as to how you would like to motivate your Players to interact with the content you have created. With the long list of Achievement rules, you might be wondering which best fits your use case and your target audience. Here’s our take on them!
Targeted content, coupled with the effect to encourage Players to submit multiple entries
-
Rule: Complete this challenge at least _ times
+ Pair this up with repeatable challenges, especially if you would like to encourage your Players to
submit multiple entries
+ Works best with open-ended Challenges (Standard, Photo and Custom Form Challenges). But,
always moderate completions to prevent points farming and sub-quality submissions.
If you are organizing a speakers’ session, pair this Achievement rule with a
Standard Challenge to encourage participants to submit questions. -
Rules: Complete at least _ photo challenges in this topic
Complete at least _ QR challenges in this topic
Complete at least _ photo challenges in this project
Complete at least _ QR challenges in this project
+ Direct Players’ attention to these targeted Challenge types, and have them interact with the
content just as you have imagined. If you are organizing an event with many booths set up, make use of QR Code
Challenges and the related Achievement rules to get the event goers to interact
with the booths.
Create conversations and interactions within the Project
-
Rules: Post at least _ comments in this challenge
Post at least _ comments in this topic
Post at least _ comments in this project
Vote on at least _ completions in this topic
Vote on at least _ flashcards in this topic
+ For content creators looking for social elements with gamification strategy, these are perfect and
spot-on. Get Players to discuss the Topic and Challenge content.Pro-tip: The best content can only be created if you know the preference and
interest of your target audience. Use these Achievement rules and additional
communications to encourage your Players to voice their opinions. Players unlock
Achievements, you as the Content Creator collects information - a win-win!
Encourage progress in the Project
When you want Players to complete and submit entries for at least some of the Challenges. You can even pair it up with the locking mechanism to get Players to complete the “mandatory” ones.
-

Complete at least _ challenges in this project
Complete all challenges in this topic
+ The best Achievement rules to get your Players started on the content you have painstakingly
created.
+ Works with any type of Challenge, but we do recommend you give a try to the full suite of
Challenges to get a sense which your Players like the most.
Pro-tip: You can even repeatedly make use of this set of Achievements to create
milestone checks for every X number of Challenges completed. For example, you
created a total of 20 Challenges in the Project. You can create 3 Achievements
using the rule “Completes at least _ challenges in this project” the
following ways:
- 3 Challenges - A Bronze badge for getting started
- 8 Challenges - A Silver badge for almost hitting the halfway mark
- 20 Challenges - A Gold badge for commitment
Simulate “First-Come-First-Serve”
-
Rule: Be one of the first _ players who complete(s) a challenge in this topic
+ Perfect for creating hype, especially during the initial launch of your
Project. You have the autonomy to decide the number of Players who
can receive this Achievement.Pro-tip: Market this Achievement as “limited edition”. Pair this with the set
of Achievements that encourage progress in the Project to get your Players
started on the content.
Celebrate your Player’s milestone on the leaderboard
-
Rules: Earn at least _ points in this topic
Earn at least _ points in this project
+ Points are essentially what put the Players up the leaderboard in the entire Project lifetime. The
leaderboard is where Players have a gauge on where they stand relative to their peers and
determine actions to take henceforth.
+ If you are looking for a set of Achievement rules that are more holistic, these are perfect. Players
are able to earn points not just from completing Challenges, but also from receiving votes on their
completions, casting votes on content and completion and commenting on content and
completions. If you would like to give your rewards to your Players based on points tiering,
make use of these Achievement rules and collate the Achievement recipients list
later.
