Enterprise Platforms, including Supertize.com, support two platform-level access modes: Restricted Mode and Unrestricted Mode. These control who can register and gain platform access. Separately, each Project's Public, Private, or (where enabled) Public (Guest Mode) setting determines how people access that Project.
1. Restricted Mode (Default)
All Enterprise Platforms are in Restricted Mode by default. Users cannot register independently: they must first be invited directly to at least one Project.
- ✅ Users may be invited directly within a Project.
- ✅ Once invited to any Project, a user can access all Public Projects on that Enterprise Platform, even without individual invitations to those Public Projects.
- ✅ Private Projects are limited to users specifically invited or authorised for those Projects.
- ❌ Users cannot sign up on their own without an invitation.
Example: John is invited to Private Project A. He can then also access Public Projects B and C on the same platform, without separate invitations. He cannot access another Private Project unless separately authorised.
🔒 Security recommendation: use Private Projects for confidential content
Restricted Mode is not a guarantee that every platform user belongs to your organisation. An external consultant, vendor or partner invited to one Project may also access other Public Projects on the same platform. Therefore, if content is confidential or intended exclusively for employees, set the Project to Private, even under Restricted Mode.
For additional organisation-wide protection, discuss corporate email domain whitelisting or mandatory Single Sign-On (SSO) with Gametize. These controls require the appropriate platform configuration.
2. Unrestricted Mode
Under Unrestricted Mode, users can register independently, without a prior Project invitation. Access then depends on each Project's visibility setting.
A. Public
- ✅ Users can register and sign in without a prior invitation.
- ✅ Any registered platform user can access Public Projects, regardless of whether they were invited before.
- ✅ Registered participation can be associated with the user's account and progress.
- ❌ Signing in is still required for registered participation.
Suitable for: open learning programmes and public engagement campaigns where account-based progress tracking is important.
B. Public (Guest Mode)
Public (Guest Mode) allows participation without account registration or sign-in, where the feature is enabled on the Enterprise Platform and Project.
- ✅ Participants can access the Project through its link without creating an account.
- ✅ Guests can take part in supported Challenges and activities.
- ❌ Guest progress is not permanently tied to a registered account and may be lost after the guest session ends.
Guest activity may still appear in leaderboards or analytics where supported. Guest Mode is best for exhibitions, roadshows, short campaigns and events that prioritise quick participation over persistent individual account tracking.
C. Private
- ✅ Only specifically invited or authorised users can access the Project.
- ❌ Independent platform registration does not grant access to Private Projects.
Suitable for: confidential training and targeted employee or partner programmes.
3. Comparison
| Feature | Restricted Mode (Default) | Unrestricted Mode |
|---|---|---|
| Independent registration | ❌ | ✅ |
| Invitation required for initial platform access | ✅ | ❌ |
| Public Projects | Accessible after invitation to any Project | Accessible to registered users without prior invitation |
| Private Projects | Specifically invited or authorised users only | Specifically invited or authorised users only |
| Public (Guest Mode) | ❌ Not available by default | ✅ Where enabled; no login required |
| Default Enterprise Platform setting | ✅ | ❌ |
4. Which configuration should I use?
- Confidential employee-only training: Restricted Mode + Private Projects; consider mandatory SSO or domain whitelisting.
- Projects shared among invited platform users: Restricted Mode + Public Projects.
- Open campaigns with registered progress: Unrestricted Mode + Public Projects.
- Open events without registration: Unrestricted Mode + Public (Guest Mode), where enabled.
- Targeted projects on an open platform: Unrestricted Mode + Private Projects.
5. How to change access mode
All Enterprise Platforms start in Restricted Mode. To change to Unrestricted Mode, please formally inform your Gametize Representative by email. Gametize will coordinate the configuration change.
Before switching, review all existing Public Projects: under Unrestricted Mode, newly registered users may be able to access them without prior invitations.
For assistance, contact your Gametize Representative or email support@gametize.com.
