Using Gametize on Huawei Devices

Some Huawei devices do not include Google Mobile Services or the Google Play Store. This may affect how the Gametize Android app is installed and whether functions that depend on Google services work as expected.

Recommended access options

  • Player Web: Access your Project through its web link using a supported browser.
  • Direct Android download: Where available, download the Gametize APK from the Gametize App Store.
  • Gametize Lite: This may be available for compatible Android devices through the Gametize App Store.

Possible limitations

Features that use Google services—such as push notifications, maps, analytics, embedded Google content, or certain sign-in methods—may be unavailable or behave differently on Huawei devices without Google Mobile Services.

Gametize cannot guarantee compatibility with customised Android operating systems. For help, email support@gametize.com and include your Huawei model, operating-system version, and a description or screenshot of the issue.

    Sharing from Vicott Wong.

    Just a quick update that I managed to test our app very briefly on Huawei Y6p about 2 weeks ago. This model is one of those which does not have Google services support.
     
    What I've tested:
    • Complete challenge using image from gallery - working now!
    • Complete challenge using camera - working now!
    What I did not test:
    • Content with location tagging
    • Embedded content, e.g. documents from Google Drive, etc
    The positive test results are in sync with our observation that we haven't been receiving support tickets on the issue in the recent months.

    In fact, the fix that we pushed in September might have been the one that resolved the issue.
