Gametize-powered apps use your device's language preferences to display supported interface text. The steps differ between iOS and Android.
Note: System language controls interface labels and buttons, not necessarily the language of project content. See System Language vs Content Language.
iOS (iPhone and iPad)
Option 1: From the app
- Sign in to your Gametize-powered app.
- Tap your avatar on the home page to open the menu.
- If available, tap Language to open the app's iOS settings.
- Tap Language or Preferred Language and select your preferred supported language.
- Return to the app to see the change.
Option 2: From iOS Settings
- Open Settings → Apps (on older iOS versions, find the app directly in Settings).
- Select your Gametize-powered app.
- Tap Language, if available, and choose a supported language.
If the option is missing, go to Settings → General → Language & Region to add a preferred language or change the device language. The app-language option appears only when supported by the app and iOS.
Android
Android language settings differ by manufacturer, Android version and model. Unlike iOS, there is no reliable universal shortcut to the Language settings page. Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, OnePlus, Vivo and Sony each customize their settings differently. Samsung generally follows a more standard Android approach, although menu labels can still vary.
Option 1: App language (where supported)
- Open your device's Settings.
- On Android 13 or later, look for System → Languages → App Languages, or search Settings for App languages.
- Select the Gametize-powered app, if listed, and choose a supported language.
This option is available only if your Android version, device and app support per-app language selection.
Option 2: Device language
- Open Settings and search for Language.
- Open the relevant language menu (for example, System → Languages or General management → Language on some Samsung devices).
- Add or select your preferred language and set it as primary, if required.
- Reopen the app.
Because manufacturers organize these menus differently, Gametize-powered Android apps do not offer a direct shortcut to the system Language page.
Frequently asked questions
Why don't I see a Language option?
The app may not offer multiple interface languages, or your operating system may not expose per-app language settings. Try your device's language settings instead.
Will this translate challenges and other project content?
No. Changing the system language does not automatically translate administrator-created challenges, quizzes or flashcards.
What if my language is unavailable?
The app may display another supported language. See supported languages or contact Gametize Support with your app name, device model, OS version and preferred language.
