Enterprise Platform: Public vs Private Access
1. Enteprise Platform Access Options
1.1. RESTRICTED OPTION
By default, an Enterprise Project is only accessible to registered users who have been invited or who meet the access settings defined by the project owner. By default, Public registrations are disabled (i.e. only Superadmins can register users) but the Superadmin can request to enable this. Superadmins can also request for their own corporate SSO with white-listed domains/emails.
Project creators can adjust the visibility settings to determine whether:
-
Private – Only invited players or those who have the access link and meet the login requirements can join. This is the default setting for most Enterprise use cases, especially when tied to corporate logins or single sign-on.
-
Public (Restricted) – All Registered users with the project link can view and participate after logging in. This setting must be explicitly enabled by the project admin.
In short, unless a project admin deliberately changes the visibility to Public, Enterprise Platform projects are kept private to registered participants.
1.2. UNRESTRICTED OPTION
All Enterprise Project may be accessible to unverified guests or unverified registered users who have been invited or who meet the access settings defined by the project owner. As a Superadmin, you can further request to enable access without log-in or guest-mode as options (not enabled by default) for Project Creators to have access to these options.
Project creators can adjust the visibility settings to determine whether:
-
Private – Only invited players or those who have the access link and meet the login requirements can join. This is similar to the Project Private mode in the Restricted Option in Enterprise Platform.
-
Public – All Registered users with the project link can view and participate. This setting must be explicitly enabled by the project admin, as it’s generally used for open campaigns or marketing initiatives. Please note the Projects can be publicly viewed by anyone without log in if Superadmin requested for that option (no-login required).
-
Public (Guest mode) – Anyone with the project link can participate as Guests. These settings must be explicitly enabled by the project admin, as it’s generally used for open campaigns or marketing initiatives. This setting is also dependent on the Superadmin's instructions to Gametize.
2. Hosting Options
-
Private Hosting
-
The Enterprise Platform can be hosted entirely within the client’s own private cloud or on-premise servers.
-
Gametize does not have direct access to these environments, meaning the client retains full control over the infrastructure and can run independent audits without Gametize’s involvement.
-
Support from Gametize in this setup is limited to the platform software—the client’s own team handles server environment maintenance, deployment, database setup, and updates.
-
Clients can also choose to host internally (e.g., on their corporate intranet) for maximum data control.
-
-
Gametize-Managed Hosting
-
If a client does not specify a private environment, Gametize can host the Enterprise Platform in a shared AWS environment.
-
Even in a shared cloud instance, each Enterprise Platform has its own database and application container, ensuring data segregation from other applications.
-
Clients may also procure a fully dedicated AWS environment managed by Gametize (extra cost).
-
3. Data Access and Control
-
Ownership – The client owns all stored data on the Enterprise Platform.
-
Access Rights – Only employees specified by the client can access the data.
-
Login Customization – Clients can propose their own login methods (e.g., single sign-on, unique IDs instead of emails) to align with internal policies.
-
Database Access by Gametize – Gametize may request permission to access the database for maintenance or updates, but will not do so without prior approval.
4. Security and Auditing
-
Independent Audits – Clients hosting privately can conduct their own security audits or engage third parties without Gametize’s involvement.
-
Penetration Testing – All Enterprise Platforms undergo a periodic penetration testing by a CREST-certified security vendor.
-
Data Segregation – On Enterprise Platforms, client data is kept separate from other clients’ data, unlike Gametize.com where all client data resides in a shared database.
5. Practical Difference: Public Hosting vs Private Hosting
-
Public Hosting (Shared Gametize-Managed Cloud)
-
Hosted by Gametize in a multi-tenant AWS environment.
-
Data is still isolated per client, but infrastructure is shared.
-
Easier setup and no server maintenance burden for the client.
-
-
Private Hosting (Client-Controlled or Dedicated Environment)
-
Full infrastructure control and data sovereignty.
-
Custom hosting location possible (client’s own data centre or private AWS account).
-
Higher internal responsibility for system upkeep and security.
