After setting speed points for a Challenge for the first time, you can also change these settings when you edit the Challenge.
There are several key points to note while doing so:
1. How do I know how many players were awarded speed points?
On the settings screen, there will be a counter showing how many players were awarded speed points so far.
2. Can I change number of players who will receive speed points?
Yes, you can.
However, any change in criteria will only apply to those who complete the Challenge after the update.
Example:
You initially assigned 2 players to award speed points.
5 players have completed the challenge so far, with 2 players having received the speed points. Then, you decide to increase the number to 5 players to award speed points.
What happens?
Players 3-5 who have already completed the challenge will not be affected. (i.e. Points are not retrospectively awarded to them.) Instead, the 6th, 7th and 8th player will receive speed points.
3. Can I reduce the number of Players who will receive speed points?
Yes, you can.
As long as the new value is more than or equals to the number of players who have already received speed points.
Example:
You initially assigned 10 players to receive speed points.
5 players have completed the challenge so far, with all of them having received the speed points. Then, you decide to reduce the number.
You can only reduce to 5 players, but not 4 and below.
4. Can I stop giving out speed points?
To do so, set the number of players to receive speed points to the same value as the number of players who have already received speed points to date.
Subsequent players will no longer receive speed points.
5. Can I change the number of speed points players can receive?
Yes you can.
However, any change in points awarded will only apply to those who complete the Challenge after the update.
Players who have been awarded the points previously will not be affected.
Example:
You initially assigned 10 players to receive 5 speed points.
5 players have completed the challenge so far, with all of them receiving 5 speed points. Then, you decide to increase to 10 speed points.
What happens?
The 5 players who have already completed the challenge will not be affected. (i.e. Points are not retrospectively awarded to them.) Instead, only the 6th player onwards will receive 10 speed points instead of 5.
Unlike assigning completion and vote points for a Challenge which applies to all players who complete the challenge, Speed Points allows you to give points to a selected group of Players (a.k.a fastest finger first). |
